Our story began on December 10, 2011, when we found ourselves on opposite sides of a First Lego League competition. Grant, representing the "Darbots" from Darlington, faced off against LizAnne and the "Catabots" from Dalton Public Schools’ C3 program. Though we started as rivals, little did we know it was the beginning of something special.

Fast forward eight years to December 2019, we connected online, and soon our conversations turned into regular texting and long calls throughout the pandemic.

By New Year’s Eve 2020, we rang in the new year together, and on February 1, 2021, we officially began dating. Our relationship blossomed despite the 330-mile distance between Calhoun, GA, and Oxford, MS, fueled by road trips, phone calls, and plenty of dedication.

In February 2023, Grant moved to Augusta for work, and after LizAnne graduated from Ole Miss in August, she joined him on Valentine’s Day 2024.

On New Year’s Eve 2024, Grant proposed at sunset, and we celebrated ringing in our fifth new year together surrounded by friends and family. It was the perfect way to begin our next chapter.

Now happily settled in Augusta, we enjoy spending our evenings tackling bar trivia together (and have proudly snagged 2nd or 3rd place a few times!). We’re excited to start this next chapter and can’t wait to celebrate our journey with you.
